Teething

We all know how hard it is to soothe our baby while they are teething. They cannot express to us what is hurting them or how to fix it. So trial and error was what I practiced over and over again. I will show you what worked best for us and explain what got us through the teething pain. Benjamin is still teething and we continue to use the same remedies!

Amber Teething Necklace
The amber teething necklace is meant to be worn, not chewed on. Baltic amber contains a natural ingredient called succinic acid, which is a natural pain reliever, an anti inflammatory and helps calm the central nervous system.
I bought Benjamin an anklet when he was only a couple months old because I did not feel comfortable keeping a necklace on him at all times. Now Benjamin continues to wear the anklet and we keep the necklace on him, as well. It is said to work better if kept on, but you can take off at night if you prefer. The necklace should be short enough so they cannot  put in their mouth! Ben doesn't even notice is it on and it really seems to make a difference.

Sophie the Giraffe
I bought Sophie for Benjamin when he was only a few months old. He seemed to really love the feel of Sophie and would teethe on her well. She is made from 100% natural rubber derived from the sap of the Hevea Tree. She always squeaks and is extremely easy to wash!

Highland's Teething Pills
Quick dissolving, all natural, and a little sweet, teething pills. I've used these since ben was three months old when the teething began. I would give him 3 of the pills and follow it up with something cold to help numb the pain as well.

"Sassy" Teething Net
There are a few different brands of teething nets but the image below is Sassy. Teething nets have SAVED us from some serious grumpy, teething days. We buy organic mango chunks from Trader Joe's and stick them right in the net! I have found this to be so helpful. Ben has never taken pacifiers or bottles. So it was hard to soothe him when it came to teething. With the frozen mango, it had a sweet taste, which made ben love to suck on it! These come with nets included but you can also buy replacements and make sure you wash the net thoroughly.

Frozen organic mini waffles
Benjamin loves this for breakfast. toasted with butter but recently I have been giving him frozen waffles and he absolutely loves it! It has texture and is cold so it is the perfect combination for my little fatty. I only recently started doing this and wouldn't have fed it to him before he could eat the waffle. It does melt down and will break apart so they can eat it as well.

Frozen pacifier
I found this photo via Pintrest a while back and was very intrigued by the idea. Though Benjamin does not suck on binky's it is a quick and easy way to give them something they are more familiar with and being frozen. He doesn't suck on it but he does like to bite on it and seems to help entertain him for the time being. For baby's that DO take binky's, I could see this being very helpful!

Teething, Teething, Teething.
A few more of our favorites!
Like I said before, Benjamin did not take well to teethers. We have at least 20 different teethers and these are the few that have really helped him get through it.

Nuby Silicone Teether
This teether is flexible, has bristles and texture and is easy for them to hold! Most defininatly has always been one of his favorite teethers.

Razbaby RaZ-berry teether
I pop this one in the freezer for a bit and he seems to love to gnaw on this one. Inexpensive and effective. We love this one.

Banana training Toothbrush
This item is meant to be training toothbrush but this is a product that Benjamin would not let go of! He LOVED it. It reaches further back, is flexible and has soft bristles. Easy to clean and a fun little design.

Munchkin Orajel Massaging Teether
This teether was a little more difficult for Ben to get the hang of at a younger age because you have to bite down in order to get it to vibrate. But once he could bite down hard enough to get it to vibrate, he LOVED it. It is most defiantly one of his favorites now.

Thank you for stopping by!

while researching photos of the products we use.
